We are proud to share with you the most recent success of Annabel
Fawcett this past weekend. She was one of the youngest runners at the famous and ever growing Great North Run held last Sunday. Annabel chose to support the Joanna Simpson Foundation with this challenge, raising £1000 pounds for us.

“I have decided to run for the Joanna Simpson Foundation because of the personal family connection. The Foundation, in Jo's memory captures who she was - warm, caring and driven through supporting children affected by domestic violence and homicide.”  Annabel

It was a gorgeous day, lots of people attending, and she finished in just over 2 hours. Turning just 17 in June (which is the minimum age of entry), she took on this challenge at her earliest opportunity. Annabel did her DofE Gold in Scotland the week before, followed by a hockey match just days before, when she sustained an injury to her foot, putting her participation at risk. Fortunately, ice and arnica treatment managed to take away the bruising and enabled her to complete the run. She is a passionate athlete; we are sure to see her at many more events and perhaps in the same turquoise colour.
Diana Parkes, Jo’s mother, congratulated Annabel, saying ' I am very proud to have known Annabel for all of her life. I have watched her grow to be a delightful, charming and talented young woman.

Joanna was my daughter and on behalf of the charity we set up in her memory, the Joanna  Simpson Foundation, I congratulate Annabel on the fantastic achievement of running in, and completing, the Great
North Run and raising the magnificent sum of £1000. This will go to help our charity care for children whose lives have been effected by domestic homicide.

Thank you so much for sponsoring Annabel. We are very grateful.'

Well done and a Big Thank you Annabel!
